Continental Premium Contact 2 tyres features an innovative and unique 3D tread groove that provides it with optimum braking performance on both dry and wet surfaces, excellent stability, unbeatable protection against aquaplaning, and precise handling. The flat side of the circumferential groove offers stronger tread block stability and enhanced road contact resulting in shorter braking distances while on dry roads that improve the vehicle?s safety. The trend blocks don?t bend away even when placed under high strain, enabling the tire to retain unbeatable contact with the road. The steep side of the circumferential groove makes the tread block?s edge appear extremely angular. This feature enables the tire cut through the water encountered on the road just like a windscreen wiper. The unique shape of the circumferential groove (steep and shallow sides) enables the creation of a swirl effect as water flows through. As a result, water is dispersed quickly reducing the risk of hydroplaning. Also, the harmonic rounded shape of the ground contact patch helps to lessen the risk of hydroplaning. The reduced number of tread blocks and the compact outer shoulder ensure excellent cornering stability. The inner ribs have a double block structure that provides high circumferential tread stiffness resulting in improved braking performance and driving stability. The open inner shoulder has continuous lateral grooves that reduce rolling noise, providing a comfortable ride.
